As you may already know (through the numerous Instagram shots...) I went on a little break to Milan over the weekend! My best friend Alice has been living there for the past 2 months as part of her course, lucky bunny! We hadn't seen each other for almost a year! That's a decade in best friends years... Living in two different countries and working full time jobs doesn't make things easy!

I took the early flight on Friday morning and arrived just in time for lunch! Alice was still at work so I made my way to her flat (thank god for iPhones and its GPS) I dumped my jeans and leather jacket for a flowy dress and sunglasses, grabbed a map and walked all the way to the historic center to find a nice spot for lunch.

It turned out the city center was a little further away than I thought, so I settled for a nice little cafe in a quiet street and ordered my weight in Melon and Parma ham.
On my way back I bought peonies along with a fresh bottle of white wine and some ice cream for us to enjoy later. Alice finally came back from work, we were both 'starving' at this point so we made our way back into the center, taking the metro this time!

We sat down at a bar in the beautiful Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II for a regional drink (which I can't remember the name of - it was terribly bitter!!) we almost choked on our olives when the bill turned up. We paid 35 euros for 2 drinks and a handful of crisps and olives... Oh and the best bit is, we paid 9 euros for a can of Sprite. Yep you read that right 9 FRICKIN' EUROS!!! Schoolgirl error, I must say, as we were obviously foreign AND in the most touristic place you could be..

Moving on, laughing at ourselves for this terrible mistake we made our way to Casa Tua a little gem we found thanks to Chiara from the Blonde Salad! We caught up on each other's lives over wine and delicious fresh pasta!

More coming soon...
